Almost 40 applications from six Alpine countries were submitted for this year's Green Infrastructure goes business award. Now the winners have been chosen.
Among the applications were a variety of ideas, products and services that have a positive impact on green infrastructure and offer solutions for climate protection and adaptation. From green facades to new forest management models and sustainable tourism offers to traditional hand weaving, everything was included. The six-member jury consisting of Angelika Abderhalden (CH), Frederic Bally (FR), Mariadonata Bancher (IT), Miro Kristan (SI), Johann Schmid (AT) and Robert Winkler (DE) therefore had no easy task.
Six teams were particularly convincing, as they put value on green infrastructure with a business model and have a positive impact on the environment and climate. Congratulations to:
• Grün statt Grau - Begleitung zum naturnah gestalteten Betriebsgelände (Austria)
• Helix Pflanzensysteme (Germany)
• MACRA DEVELOPMENT 2030 Project (Italy)
• Un cercle immense / the great circle (France)
• VAIA (Italy)
• Valorization of wetlands “wastes” for fertilizing soils and improving carbon sequestration (Switzerland)
The jury also found two other applications extremely interesting, so they will receive a special recognition and will also be invited to the awarding ceremony:
• b*coop. Citizens Create Community (Italy)
• The FunDAMental Change (Slovenia)
The winning teams will receive a business coaching from PLANVAL over the next two months to take their ideas, products or services further. For this purpose, Lean Startup methods will be applied to help the teams to elaborate, test and further develop their business model. Finally, on 4 May 2023, the Awarding Ceremony will take place in Munich, where the teams can present their projects and network with international players.
